The Arabian Horse Yearbook is a special project to keep memories of the beautiful horses we have today, relevant for future research. In the past, we used magazines like Arabian Horse World to see and learn about horses, but now those magazines are barely hanging on and participation is limited only to those who have the budget for expensive ads. This yearbook is here to take the place of what the magazines used to provide. Many breed historians cling to old copies of these magazines to use for research, however, nowadays in the digital era, where will researchers go?
The remaining breed publications are extremely expensive to advertise in, and their size has shrunk in comparison to the thick volumes of the past. This yearbook is an accessible and affordable way to have a lasting record of our horses in a book that you can hold or read on a computer.
The yearbook helps us remember how to breed the best horses by studying pictures and learning from the past. We like to use pictures that show the whole horse so we can see all their good qualities. We recommend that everyone supplies a conformation photo or a photo that really shows how the horse really looks.
We give everyone listing options, yes, the are the do it yourself versions, so you can show off your horse. If you want to add more pictures, it costs a lot less than a magazine ad. The small fee helps us put the book together and make it available in different formats. There are limits to the free options, so if you need more listings, you can purchase additional listings.
